Boise Centre

Boise Centre

To fulfill its purpose of promoting economic growth, the Greater Boise Auditorium District Board is responsible for the operations of Boise Centre.

Completed in January 1990, Boise Centre quickly became a valuable economic catalyst for growth—not only in downtown Boise where the facility is located, but also for lodging properties throughout the District that accommodate thousands of guests every year.

Boise Centre is home to almost 300 events, including several conventions, that draw almost 200,000 guests annually. Annual favorites include the Festival of Trees (a holiday tradition), Kid for a Night, Flower and Garden Show, major Chamber of Commerce events, and many other galas and meetings. Millions of dollars have been raised for important charitable organizations at the various fund-raising events held at Boise Centre every year.

According to a study by Boise State University’s Center for Business Research and Economic Development in October 2009, the impact of conventions to our community included:

  • A $31.1 million increase in the output of locally produced goods and services
  • A $7.5 million increase in the earnings of persons in the local economy
  • 317 additional jobs produced in the local economy
  • $1.1 million in additional tax revenues to the State of Idaho

Boise Centre is currently the largest meeting facility in the State of Idaho with approximately 45,000 square feet of available meeting/convention space.

Independent research as recently as March 2010, conducted by Convention Sports and Leisure (as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers), confirms the Boise market can support, and is in need of, a facility consisting of 50,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, 15,000 square feet ballroom space, and added meeting rooms of 13,000 square feet.
